Freelance AI Product Engineer
Location: Lisbon / Remote (EU-friendly)
Type: Freelance / Contract (project-based, with option to extend)
We’re building a new internal product capability at Vibrancy: a scalable, AI-supported system that streamlines how we capture requirements, structure information, and generate high-quality first outputs across markets.
You’ll own the end-to-end delivery — from prototype to production — and help us turn a complex, knowledge-heavy workflow into a reliable, measurable product.
YOUR TASKS
AI Product Build (LLM Systems)

Design and implement AI-assisted workflows for structured intake, analysis, and high-quality first outputs.

Build prompts, tool-use patterns, and guardrails (routing, confidence checks, escalation to humans).

Set up evaluation and regression testing (test cases, scoring, prompt/version control, review loops).
Engineering & Integrations

Build lightweight services/APIs to orchestrate workflows and integrate with existing tools (CRM, forms, knowledge bases).

Implement logging, monitoring, and analytics for quality and reliability.

Own deployment basics (cloud setup, CI/CD where helpful, secrets management, access controls).
Data, Quality & Reliability

Define and track KPIs (quality, speed, deflection, error classes) and continuously improve outputs.

Create structured documentation and handover material so the system is maintainable.

Ensure privacy-by-design and sensible handling of sensitive data (minimization, permissions, retention).
YOUR PROFILE
-
Proven hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered products (not just demos).

Strong software engineering fundamentals (e.g., Python and/or TypeScript), comfortable shipping production systems.

Experience with at least some of: RAG/knowledge retrieval, tool calling, workflow orchestration, evaluation frameworks, observability.

Solid understanding of security and data protection basics for AI systems.

Product mindset: you can turn ambiguity into a roadmap, ship iteratively, and measure impact.

Clear communicator, independent worker, and pragmatic problem solver.
